Stud Facilities
During the Summer months large fields with natural
thick high hedges provide shelter and excellent grazing. All the fields are kept
fresh by cross grazing with sheep. Haylage is made on the farm on fields never
grazed by horses.
In foal mares are monitored by television and foaling alarms nearing the date of
birth. During the winter the weaned foals live in small groups and then as two
and three year olds in large roomy barns. Their health and well-being again
being very important to Larkinglass and we aim to keep them in as natural a way
as possible. These are the future stars.
