OWNERS DAY - 24 AUGUST 2008 Well the weather held and the sun shone in patches. We had a few spots of rain but not enough to dampen the enthusiasm of all the Owners that turned out today to support Neil, Liz, Georgie and John and the rest of the crew at Larkinglass.
There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes at these events, weeks of organising and hard work by Liz and the gang. A mention must go here to the staff that were at the yard at 6.00am to start plaiting and turning the horses out to an amazing standard. All of the horses that were paraded were plaited and were a credit to the yard.
Johnny opened the show with a welcoming speech. The parade went well with Neil doing a little speech about each horse as it was paraded. All the horses were turned out to perfection. Liz and Georgie were working hard behind the scenes to make sure the horses were paraded in the same order as they were listed in the brochure so that the audience knew which horse was which!
Ian Woodward (affectionately known as Woody) organised the catering which was fantastic and enjoyed by all! There was even a singer to entertain us while we were eating!
